Centre for Sustainability and Capacity Building (PULESTARI)

The Centre for Sustainability and Capacity Building (CSCB) is a vital hub for promoting Sustainable Development Practices, including environmental and social responsibility. It serves as a platform for organisations, groups, individuals, stakeholders, and communities to come together, work together, and contribute towards a sustainable future.

Key Programmes & Initiatives of The CSCB

The Centre implements a range of programmes and initiatives to promote sustainability described under the 17 UN-SDGs, particularly concerning the conservation of biodiversity and its ecological and natural ecosystems, as well as the local communities' cultural values associated with the ecosystems. Experts are welcome to establish any programme under the CSCB framework. The Programme is expected to be self-funded and contribute to the Centre's key objective.

 

Initial Stage of the Centre

The Centre, at the initial stage, focus on the UNESCO-designated areas. The key Programme are:

  • Promotion of Sustainable Development Practice 17 UN-SDGs
  • Ecosystem Conservation (area establishment, rehabilitation, restoration)
  • Ecological Connectivity (Eco-linkages) and Wildlife Corridors
  • Establishment & Management of Conservation Areas (CCA, OECM, CUZ)
  • Sustainable Agriculture & Fisheries (conservation & tourism-based)
  • Conservation of the Socio-cultural of Local Native Communities
  • Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Resilience
  • CAPACITY BUILDING activities on Sustainable Nature & Cultural based Tourism
